I recommend opening your pool in April or when the temperatures are in the 50’s or above.
Why So Early? Let me explain.
Light and heat breed algae and bacteria. Stagnant water, extreme heat and humidity equal more chemicals, more money, and more time to clear up your pool.
Opening your pool can go smoothly but all too often problems occur that need to be addressed.
Repairs. The earlier you get started the more time you will have to make those necessary repairs. You may find cracked pipes from a bitter cold winter. You might have a pump, filter, or heater that will not work. Avoid opening the week before your memorial day bbq. Getting a pool guy out just before memorial day will be extremely difficult and/or costly. Many pool dealers offer discounts if you get on the schedule early. You will pay a premium if you wait till the last minute.
Appearance: The best part about opening early? Your backyard will look beautiful once again! Now, all you need to do is fire up the grill and celebrate because summer is almost here!
