Camera inspection cameras can be extremely useful locating leaks in swimming pool skimmers, returns, and main drain lines. The Rigid SeeSnake Video Inspection Camera is perfect for locating cracks or stress fractures, PVC fitting glue joint displacements, plumbing blockages, punctures in underground pipes, cuts, etc.. When any damage is found video or pictures of the affected area can be stored for later review. When used in conjunction with the RIDGID 19238 NaviTrack Scout Locator, you will be able to locate exactly where the damaged pipes are.
We sent the Rigid See Snake inspection camera down both return lines in this pool. Cracks were located in the black poly pipe directly under the concrete deck. Both lines were cracked in the same spot side by side. We dug under the concrete deck, exposed the cracked plumbing and made the necessary repairs. After cutting the pipe and removing the damaged plumbing we pressure tested the line once again back to the pool just to be sure we did not have any further leaks. When repairing black poly a special LASCO barb to slip fitting is used to convert to rigid or flexible pvc. The black poly is heated with a torch, 3M 5200 Marine Grade Caulking is spread inside the black poly and all around the barb fitting before inserting the fitting in to the black poly pipe. Hose clamps are then used to secure the black poly to the barb fitting. This repair was allowed to cure before pressure testing the line again to insure we had no leaks at the barb fitting.
If you are considering offering pool & spa leak detection services I highly recommend adding the Rigid SeeSnake & the NaviTrack Scout Locator to your service truck.

I find it interesting when you said that the videos or pictures captured by camera leak detection services and their equipment can be saved and reviewed later on. I can imagine how those kinds of systems can make it easier for professionals to determine which area they need to dig. And it will definitely save time and resources as well as money if they can address the issues directly and quickly at the same time.

Thanks for your comment. The camera end pings a signal to a locator top side which does the locating underground. It’s a very cool system.
